Driving up to Cobble Beach, this 574-acre elegant resort and spa offers so many activities and amenities, guests coming to stay at the main resort or cottages are also choosing to stay. Seeing Cobble Beach as a way of life, many are buying homes that include a golf membership. Located on Georgian Bay, about ten minutes North of Owen South, the four-season resort boasts a large restaurant offering local and impressive seasonal menus. Owner Rob McLeese had a vision for what originally was six farms on two heritage sites and provides the perfect venue for many special events.
We stayed in a stylishly cozy and comfortable, light-filled cottage for a weekend, and could have happily moved in. After exploring the area’s hiking trails, waterfalls, and canoeing, the serenity of the beautifully appointed cottage was a welcome retreat at the end of the day. Breakfast is served in the sunroom surrounded by windows with a view of the lake and golf course. Guests are a mixture of golfers, robe wearing spa guests, and tourists exploring the area.
The location, perched overlooking Georgian Bay lures you to swim at the dock, or hop in a canoe or kayak. The inn has 10 rooms, and 21 cottages.
For the past six years, Cobble Beach has been host to Concours d’Elegance. Held on the 18th fairway of Cobble Beach, the phenomenal bayside course hosts international antique and classic cars rarely seen in Canada.
