As a tea lover, I dislike making tea using in-room coffee makers. It’s essential for my sanity and those around me that I am able to make tea before I face the public. My favourite travel companion is this tiny little kettle that sets me up for the day, any day, no matter where I am. A good travel kettle must have a few essential features. It should be small and lightweight so that it can be easily packed and carried. The lid should be sturdy and hinged for ease of filling. There should be a water level window to check the amount of water being added. A study, ergonomically designed handle is key, and it should be easy to clean. The Bonavita travel kettle is my favourite travel companion and I would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone who needs a decent cup of tea to survive life on the road! My day always starts with a cup of tea, often two. Kettles in hotel rooms or ship cabins are few and far between. This kettle fits nicely into a suitcase, doesn’t take up much space, boils quickly and meets every expectation. The only minor flaw is the length of the cord (which is quite short), so you have to ensure there is an outlet close to a flat surface.
