I received my pair of Dubarry’s as a Christmas present, so I personally did not make the investment…but having recently tested them in very wet conditions on the Sea of the Hebrides, I definitely would. Once on, these boots are so comfortable you can even nap in them, but sturdy enough to weather a boat heeling and rain, even in slippery conditions. The Gore-tex® lining and the non-slip, non-marking outsole both contribute to the waterproof and breathable qualities of this boot. The two-tone outer leather layer makes a very fashionable statement…where form and function battle for top spot.
Dubarry was established in 1937 to provide jobs in a small town, Ballinasloe, Ireland – named after a famous French courtesan, Madame Du Barry. It began by designing and manufacturing of fine leather shoes. Its signature boot, The Galway, was inspired by the regions great sailing heritage.
