Take on the Cold, the Wet and the Wind

January 29, 2019 - by Elizabeth Kerr

Everyone knows how much I loved travelling with my Eddie Bauer Ignitelite Reversible Jacket while cruising up the coast of Scotland. What started out as a search for the sleeveless version, ended in me purchasing my first ever friend-approved winter coat. I live my life based on the less is more principle, however this does not translate well in the cold days of winter.Explore

Fashion and Function…Even When It’s Cold Outside

December 18, 2018 - by Melody Wren

Active, adventurous in the winter without fear of wiping out is a goal most Canadians have. Even walking briskly on sidewalks without grips, ice underneath the snow can be treacherous. Olang winter boots have changed all that. Boots with a pivoting grip are designed to increase traction on ice and snow.Explore

Cold Weather Hats

October 23, 2018 - by Melody Wren

Staying warm and fashionable in the winter can be a little difficult at times. Luckily, there are so many amazing winter accessories that pair fashion with function for our cool climate, whether at home or when travelling. I simply can’t live without one essential in particular and that’s the perfect winter hat. Explore

A Savvy Investment in Bootwear

September 19, 2018 - by Elizabeth Kerr

I received my pair of Dubarry’s as a Christmas present, so I personally did not make the investment…but having recently tested them in very wet conditions on the Sea of the Hebrides, I definitely would. Ex Officio Zhanna Reversible Legging

September 13, 2017 - by Melody Wren

Exofficio Reversible Leggings

These reversible leggings have become an essential item in my case for so many different types of travel, especially when looking to travel light. The colour pairs well with the hooded tunic from Ex-Officio I also own; the striped pattern on the reverse mixes things up a bit and adds a bit of attitude to a day’s look. The leggings look fab with boots, ballet flats or sneakers. The fabric is thick enough to not be transparent, and keep me cozy on cold airplanes but thin enough to be flexible and comfortable. Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket – Giving New Meaning to the Term “Down Time”

May 6, 2017 - by Julie Kerr

Whether you are gearing up to ski down mountain, traverse to its peak, or sail around its base, the Patagonia down jacket is the perfect companion. Lightweight and versatile in nature, it fits into any piece of luggage, and trust me, it packs a punch.

Down filled, this jacket is guaranteed to keep you warm, while its windproof and water-resistant shell fabric keeps you dry in all conditions. In the past, I used this jacket as a base layer underneath my shell for skiing, but last summer, I decided it to test it on the water.Explore
